Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the Alpha Systems Polyurethane Stripper. So this is going to help you to get any kind of polyurethane that's cured onto any kind of metal off by being able to soak it in that solution, and then let it be able to scrape off. So you do need to heat this before you soak anything in it, it needs to be heated between 170 and 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Don't want to exceed 180 degrees, but once you get up to that temperature and then let the item sit for two to four hours, it should allow that polyurethane to soften up enough to where you can scrape it off. Safe to use on most metals, you do want to make sure that you use it in a very well ventilated area. It's not really intended for home use, this is something that's more for professional use.This is a gallon of that Polyurethane Stripper, has a little handle spout to let you pour it out as you need it and it is made in the USA. more

Now that tape cover is usually used whenever you're trying to repair a tear or damaged portion of your roof membrane, but maybe you can't really get the material around there very clean. It's just not really cooperating with you, or you're in an area where it never really gets that warm. And that can also affect how well that will adhere. This helps to make sure that that tape will stick and stay in place, whether you have issues with cleaning that membrane or whatever material you're attaching it to.. This is designed to seal your joints of any flat, even surface like the corners of your RV unit with the laminated sidewalls.Basically, it's going to help weatherproof your corners and joints while also providing structural support. As you can see, our butyl material is going all the way to the edge of our Mylar, so it's going to give us a nice wide surface to apply, to make sure that everything is going to stick where it should.The butyl tape is a non-drying compound that's going to resist water and weather while having a strong adhesion to any non porous surface, so it's going to do a good job of sticking to the sidewalls, making sure that those joints stay water tight. It will apply to any clean, dry surface. It's very easy to then just smooth out to make sure there's no wrinkles or anything in there where water could get in, so there's going to be a nice, smooth surface for you.Now, there are different options with your butyl tape, this one is right at three inches tall. more

Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Alpha Systems Q130 Butyl Tape, if you're not familiar with what butyl tape is, it's going to allow you to make sure that none of your screw holes are going to allow water to get into your interior of your RV. So this is going to be put down on the exterior, if you're installing a new roof vent or something like that, anywhere where you're going to have screw holes, you're going to want to put this down underneath it. As the screws go in there, the tacky material is going to get bound up in those spindles so that it's going to block out any water, it's going to make sure that no water gets inside where it can cause problems.You can see this butyl tape is a white color and it is right about 3/8ths of an inch in total width. It's only about 1/16th of an inch thick, and it's going to give you 45 feet of total length in our package here. So that should do quite a bit for you, depending on what your application is, and how far you need this to stretch. more

If something happens to your roof membrane, maybe some branches caught and dug a hole or gouged out of patch of your roof membrane, you need to get that plugged up. Otherwise, you can cause damage to your RV, you can have leaks, water coming in, and it's just all around not good to have that. So we'll be able to patch up our roof membrane with this strip and the self-leveling sealant that it comes with, so we don't have any issues.This is an almond color. It's kind of hard to tell on camera, but it's a light beige, it's similar to the inside of an almond. more

Our customer's old membrane was severely damaged and it needed to be replaced. Luckily, they caught it in time that it didn't cause any damage to any of the wood underneath it. What are some other reasons that we can find that we would need to replace our roof membrane Maybe we find a small leak, a lot of those times, those leaks can be easily fixed by simply replacing the silicone sealer around all of your trim pieces. more

Review of TRC Enclosed Trailer Parts - Butyl Tape - 362BT-18X34-50- Video
Today, we'll be taking a quick look at the butyl tape for enclosed trailers. This is going to be an important part of your installation of a roof air conditioner, a vent, a fan or anything you want me to install your enclosed trailer or RV. The butyl tape is going to create a watertight seal between that accessory and the top of your roof. It also helps to get that adhered to the roof membrane. You can also use this to actually install a new roof membrane on your enclosed trailer.It's made of a synthetic polymer based-material, so it's going to stay flexible even after years of service, but also the adhesion actually improves over time. When you first put this in place, after about 24 hours, it's going to really get tacky, and the longer it stays on there, the better it holds. more

Today we'll be taking a look the butyl tape for enclosed trailers. Now this is going to be an essential part of your install for any kind of vent or fan that you might put on your enclosed trailer. This butyl tape will create a nice watertight seal for that fan or vent. It can adhere to not only roof membranes on your trailer but also to glass, aluminum and galvanized steel. So it's kind of this putty-like really sticky material. It comes pre-formed and it's a synthetic polymer base. more

This is what our roof membrane is gonna look like when it's installed. What are some of the reasons that we would need a new roof One, maybe we have an old camper that's got some leaks in it. Another reason, we're restoring a camper and we want to make sure that the roof we're putting on or the roof membrane that we're gonna be putting on is a good material that's gonna last. This is gonna be to fix minor rips and tears you may have in your rubber roof. It's gonna be constructed of the same rubber material as your existing roof, and it's gonna have an adhesive back that's gonna cover the whole patch.Now your patch is gonna be six inches wide by 12 inches long. You notice we have a slight tear here in the top of our rubber roof. First thing we need to do, you kit's gonna come with the rubber roof membrane, the replacement patch. It's gonna come with a scrub pad, the soft pad on this side and you're gonna have two alcohol wipes.We need to clean the area to make sure that this is gonna stick well. more
